Ever wondered what the spice rack of a traditional Eurasian household looks like? Mrs Valerie Scully will share with host Sarah how she harnesses aromatics and spices to develop traditional home remedies to soothe ailments and the like.
Also on hand to share about the rich Eurasian culture is chef Quentin Pereira. The chef, known for his home-style flavours, will give our host the low-down on how to produce the Eurasian favourite – Kristang stew.
If you are interested to learn more, join us for a guided tour and cooking demonstration at the Eurasian Association. Knowledgeable docents will walk you through the freshly-revamped Eurasian Heritage Gallery and share with you about the spice trade — in particular how spices came to be at the heart and soul of Eurasian cuisine. The docents will also speak on what it means to be Eurasian — a race and culture that reflects a range and combination of European and Asian influences.
Due to tightened safe management measures, the tour and food demonstration has been cancelled. We will be in touch with participants who had signed up, to arrange for full refunds.
