This May, join us on a journey from the National Heritage Board’s most recently-reopened museum to its oldest. In celebration of the board’s 30th anniversary and the new Our SG Heritage Plan 2.0, these special guided tours will offer a tantalising slice of Singapore’s heritage through visits to the Peranakan Museum and the National Museum of Singapore.

Explore how the Peranakan Museum presents the origins and diversity of Peranakan culture, as well as the building’s history as the old Tao Nan School; delve into lesser-known facts and features of the more-than-century-old building that is home to the National Museum, and get a glimpse of spaces visitors normally don’t get to see.

Advisory:
Please dress comfortably for walking as this tour will cover indoor and outdoor spaces with multiple stops. The route includes stairs in the museums, so please advise if any assistance is needed. The segment of the tour at Fort Canning will consist of limited shelter and no air conditioning, so feel free to bring a portable fan or umbrella.

Small bottled water will be provided. As water is not allowed in the museum galleries, do bring a small bag with you to carry the bottle.

  • If you are not feeling well on the day, please do not turn up for the tour. Should you wish to cancel your booking, please get in touch with us via the Peatix app, 24 hours before the start of the programme, and a full refund will be made.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the programme for registration.

  • Electronic or printed ticket(s) must be presented to join the tour.It is compulsory for a parent/guardian to accompany any child of or under the age of 12.

  • The programme may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. All participants will receive a full refund in the case of programme cancellation by the organiser.
