Author and linguist Kevin Martens Wong, who leads and champions the revitalisation of the Kristang community in Singapore, recently completed a massive exercise translating all 140 of our MRT station names into Kristang — the endangered heritage language of the Portuguese-Eurasian community.

Join him on a linguistic heritage tour of select MRT stations that have significant ties to Eurasian and Kristang history, as he expounds on the deeper meanings of the Kristang names. Elements of the Kodrah Kristang na fora method of immersive-learning will be used to facilitate the tour; participants will be provided with slides to follow along the tour as visual aids with web links to the Oral History Centre and other online databases and resources for possible further independent learning following the tour.
