Learn about the history of the longest surviving Dragon Kiln in Singapore - meet the potters and ceramic artists, learn to make pots, paint a clay plate or puppet, watch artisan demos, shop at the Ceramic Gallery, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature!

 

Programme 1: JBCS Open House

Sat, 21 & 28 May and Sun, 22 & 29 May 2022 | 11am – 4pm

Explore on your own the Dragon Kiln and Ceramic Gallery located with the Jalan Bahar Clay Studio

 

Programme 2: Experience Workshop: Experiencing Clay through Wheel Throwing

Sat, 21 & 28 May and Sun, 22 & 29 May 2022 | 11am – 4pm

Immerse yourself in the natural environment of the village and make your own pot!

Duration: 15-min demo and half-hour wheel throw session.

 

Fees: $30 per person. To register, you may Whatsapp Alvin at 9791 8577.

All costs are included to make one 10cm pot: including clay, glazing and firing.

Self-collection of your pot from 20 June 2022 onwards.

 

Programme 3: Experience Workshop: Experiencing Still Life Painting on a Clay Plate

Sun, 22 May | 11am - 4pm

Immerse yourself in the natural environment of the village and experience how to draw a still life on a clay plate.

 

Fees: $30 per person. Duration: 45-min. To register, you may Whatsapp Alvin at 9791 8577.

First come first served, limited to 20 pax.

All costs are included to paint one clay plate: including one plate and firing.

Self-collection of your plate from 20 June 2022 onwards.

 

Programme 4: Artisan Demos: Sculpture Restoration and Traditional Lantern Painting

Sun, 29 May | 11am - 2pm

Meet local artisan Andy Yeo and learn about the methods, materials and equipment he uses to restore sculptures and paint traditional lanterns.

 

Programme 5: Experience Workshop: Experiencing Traditional Puppet Painting

Sun, 29 May | 2pm - 3pm

Discover the art of painting a wool/paper puppet and bring it home!
