The distinctive Little India precinct melds the old with the new, hosting trades from the past beside modern businesses, old conserved shophouses next to high rise buildings. In this precinct, you can find flower garland vendors next to restaurants serving both traditional and fusion meals, small traditional businesses along multi-storey departmental stores. These are just some ways the precinct retains aspects of its history within today’s modern context.

As part of Singapore HeritageFest (SHF) 2022, join us on this new edition of the Little India Heritage Trail which also features the Street Corner Heritage Galleries featuring various heritage businesses in the precinct! Listen to anecdotal stories shared by these first- and second-generation heritage business owners and trace the evolution journey of this vibrant cultural precinct.

Indian Heritage Centre

The Indian Heritage Centre, under the management of the National Heritage Board and with support from the Indian community, traces the history of the Indian and South Asian communities in the Southeast Asian region. Situated at 5 Campbell Lane, the Centre also serves as a springboard for visitors to explore Little India and enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of the historical precinct.
