Part 1: Fireside Chat — The Sport and Art of Silat
In this informal session, hear from PERSISI (Singapore Silat Federation) and Nusantara Theatrics on the dual identity of Silat as both sport and performance. The discussion explores Silat’s mental, spiritual, and artistic aspects, and how it continues to shape youth culture today.
Part 2: Watering the Flower — A Silat Tua Workshop (Outdoors)
Join Tan Guo Lian Sutton in an introductory Silat Tua workshop inspired by nature’s elements. Learn basic footwork that forms the foundation of Silat Tari (freestyle dance), guided by images of bunga (flowers) and air (water), in a location steeped in heritage.
All participants are welcome, regardless of experience.
