Jong Clinic A Workshop On Jong Boat Racing
Explore the cultural practice of jong boat racing with Fawzi, a former Lazarus Island resident. In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, you will learn about the unique maritime heritage of the Orang Pulau, how these miniature racing boats work and even get to launch them out at sea!

This workshop is part of Shore to Shore, a series of heritage programs exploring the Southern Islands of Singapore (IG: @shoretoshoresg), supported by Temasek Foundation and NUS Libraries. It is held in collaboration with Hari Orang Pulau, a festival conducted by Orang Laut SG (IG: @oranglautsg).

Shore to Shore is a youth-led heritage movement whose aim is to sustainably cultivate interest in Singapore’s Southern Islands. Through a combination of traditional and technological tools, our content and program span the folklore, family and the flora and fauna of the outer islands. We are brought together by Temasek Foundation and the National University of Singapore Library.
