Night Shift at Sweetlands Bakery

Price: $40 per pax

The Heritage Business Foundation invites you to join us for an evening behind the curtains at Sweetlands Confectionery & Bakery, a heritage business which has stood the test of time since the 1960s. Known for their Nanyang Bread (南洋面包), Sweetlands continues to serve up old-school staples like rainbow bread and sausage buns today.

Create your very own cempedak cake, a local delight, under the bakery’s careful tutelage. At the same time, be regaled with stories of the bakery’s triumphs and tribulations, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Take the rare opportunity to explore the bakery’s production floor, an otherwise restricted area during bustling production hours. Sample the bakery’s other traditional offerings such as kaya buns and roti kok, while enjoying a chilled beverage.

As you will be visiting a commercial bakery, please note the following:
- Please wear covered shoes.
- There is no air-conditioning, please dress comfortably. Chilled drinks will be provided.
- Please comply with instructions from your hosts.
- Children below the age of 13 should be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

Dietary Restrictions: Though Sweetlands is not Halal-certified, their products do not contain pork or lard. Cempedak cake contains eggs, gluten, and dairy. Other products available for sampling may contain eggs, gluten, dairy, nuts, and other allergens. Please inform your hosts of any dietary restrictions.
