Rangoli is a multi-coloured floor decoration that symbolises wealth, joy, and prosperity, as well as thanksgiving to deities. The art of Rangoli originated from India and was brought to Singapore by Indian migrants who settled here.
 
Make sure to join this workshop to learn about the history, ingredients and evolution of rangoli in Singapore. Not only that! You get the chance to make your own rangoli and bring it home!
Vijaya Mohan

Vijaya Mohan has been practicing rangoli since the age of 5 and now has over 55 years of experience in the craft. She has created more than 10,000 rangolis in Singapore. She also holds 38 Singapore book of records and currently holds the Guinness World Record for the largest rangoli pattern ever created. Besides promoting rangoli through arts classes and workshops in local schools, she is also a trained art therapist, and works regularly with welfare organisations to conduct rangoli programmes for underserved communities, including seniors, children with special needs, and those facing mental health challenges.
