Art in Transit Virtual Tour
You won’t have to travel for this. Get a close-up look at the myriad art gracing our MRT stations from the comfort of your home via a freshly created microsite developed in honour of SHF’s 20th birthday! You’ve probably trudged by them enroute to your destination but have you ever stopped to look at the art up close?
Art Outreach Singapore has put together a set of virtual tours on the arresting visuals, sculptures and reliefs displayed in some of the nation’s MRT stations as part of its ongoing Art-In-Transit programme. The tours are housed on a new microsite designed to amplify SHF 2023’s theme of public transport heritage. The tours will take visitors along four North East Line stations to discover the mosaic, murals and marvels gracing its walkways, platforms and interchanges.
Rich multimedia content and well-spun stories serve as gateways to the history and culture of the various neighbourhoods they represent, introducing everyday commuters to new vistas of artistic expression.
