A burgeoning tribe of young Singaporeans, keen to slow down and pursue a healthier lifestyle, have come to enjoy Chinese tea culture.
Meet some of these hobbyists and watch as they demonstrate the detailed and elegant art of tea-making in the finals of an annual challenge run by tea retailer Pek Sin Choon. Pek Sin Choon is one of Singapore's oldest tea merchants with roots going back to 1925. Its Nanyang tea mixes comprise a blend of tea from the north and south of Fujian. Today, its tea leaves continue to be roasted in-house and wrapped in pink paper.
The fourth edition of the competition requires participants to pair a Nanyang tea blend with a local cuisine.
